Divided into 3 main parts, this American book introduces the principles, history and research evidence of homeopathy; then has 10 chapters illustrating the scope of homeopathy (e.g. for pregnancy & labour, pediatrics, sports medicine, psychological problems); and finally includes advice on sources of further information.

The publisher:
Description:
Dana Ullman, one of the leading advocates of homeopathic medicine, has produced a comprehensive, lucid introduction to this branch of complementary medicine, covering the history and the philosophy of homeopathy as well as scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness for a variety of conditions. A detailed discussion of the effectiveness and the limits of homeopathy in the treatment of infectious disease, allergies, chronic diseases, psychological conditions and dentistry, as well as its applications in pregnancy and labor, women's health, pediatrics and sports medicine follows.

Author Biography:
Dana Ullman received his masters in public health from UC Berkeley. He coauthored (with Stephen Cummings) Everbody's Guide to Homeopathic Medicines, which is one of the most popular guidebooks to using homeopathic medicines. Dana is the founder and President of the Foundation for Homeopathic Education and Research, is an elected Board member of the National Center for Homeopathy, and directs Homeopathic Educational Services, a primary distributor of homeopathic books, tapes, and medicine kits in the United States.

Reviews/Endorsements:
"The important concepts of homeopathy should be studied most seriously not only by those in medicine but in all social sciences. Dana Ullman's book is an eye-opener!"
- Robert Muller

"Too often books on alternative medicine resort to doctor-baiting and mellow-speak psychobabble. This book does neither. The author states his case for homeopathy well by citing numerous double-blind laboratory and clinical studies that merit the attention of medical professionals and the general public alike."
- Marvin McMillen
